Linda "Lin" (Welage) Davis

Linda “Lin” (Welage) Davis, 77, of Shelbyville, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at IU Health Methodist in Indianapolis.

She was born on March 28, 1949, in Greensburg, the daughter of Robert Welage and June (Christian) Welage Grigsby.

Lin is survived by her daughters, Katie Davis Montano and husband, Wil, of Westfield and Kelli McMains of California; brother, Steven Welage of New Castle; sisters, Anita Reed and husband, Garry, of Shelbyville, Barbara Brown and husband, Matt, of Richmond, and Cynthia “Cindy” Szabo of Venice, Florida; granddaughters, Eliana June Montano and Kestrel Cramer; and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Lin attended Greensburg High School and graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1967.

She retired as the Executive Director of the Shelbyville Chamber of Commerce.

Lin wrote and published a cookbook under the name of Lin Davis, “Indiana to California and Back Home Again” in 2004.

She enjoyed cooking, tending to her flowers and going for walks.

One of Lin’s favorite pastimes was hosting her family and friends, in her kitchen, while serving them food she made with love.

A gathering of friends and family will be from 6 to 7 pm, Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Memorial services will follow at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating.
