Linda L. Johnson

Linda L. Johnson, 78, of Morristown passed away Monday, March 22, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Fishers. She was born September 5, 1942, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Oliver Carvin and Ruth (Bentley) Harris. On July 7, 1961, she married Robert D. “Beanie” Johnson, and he preceded her in death on December 1, 2009. Linda is survived by two daughters with Beanie, Marietta L. Carlton of Morristown, and Kay Anne Gettelfinger and husband, Bart, of Fishers; brother, Dale C. Harris and wife, Bonnie, of Fairland; grandchildren, Jacob Carlton, Kaylin VanBenthuysen and husband, Matthew, Heath Carlton and Zane Gettelfinger; great-grandson, David VanBenthuysen; sister-in-law, Sandy Harris of Brownsburg; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to Beanie, Linda was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Danny R. Harris. She is also survived by a biological daughter, Kim Vink and husband Craig of Great Bend Kansas, who she was reunited with in the last week of her life. Linda graduated in 1960 from Morristown High School. She was a member of the Morristown Christian Church and American Legion Auxiliary. Linda served on the staff of Hoosiers Girls State for 20 years. She was the bookkeeper for Duane’s Sales and Service, for 35 years. Linda was very devoted to the family business. She enjoyed keeping her home and garden in excellent condition. She also made the best cherry pies from the cherry trees in her yard. Linda loved her family and enjoyed creating memories with her grandchildren and great-grandson. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the funeral home, with Rev. Fred Hickman officiating. Interment will be at Hanover Cemetery in Shelby County.
