Lory Brett Hankins

Lory Brett Hankins, 57, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville. He was born January 10, 1964, in Rushville, the son of Richard and Marlene (Manning) Hankins. On June 17, 1984, he married his wife of 36 years, Deana Moore, and she survives. In addition to Deana, Lory is survived by his sons, Stephen Hankins of Shelbyville, Jonathan Hankins of Manilla, and Eric Hankins of Shelbyville; daughters, Ashley Hankins of Shelbyville, and Ada Hankins of Indianapolis; brother, Rusty Hankins and wife, Doris, of Shelbyville; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and a sister. Lory graduated in 1982 from Rushville High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Lory formerly worked for Meridian. He enjoyed working puzzles, and playing cards and horseshoes. He also enjoyed family cook-outs. Lory also leaves behind his dog, Jack. Private family services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
