Marjorie Marie Nay

Marjorie Marie Nay, 101, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. She was born September 1, 1916, in Shelby County, the daughter of Richard and Laura (Creek) Pile. Marjorie is survived by her granddaughter, Michele Miller De Luna of Bargersville; grandson, Roderick Miller of Shelbyville; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn Nay Miller; and brother, Kenneth Pile. Marjorie graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1934, Butler University and Indiana Teachers College. She taught school for 42 years in Shelby County and Shelbyville Central Schools, retiring in 1983. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, W.S. Major Hospital Guild, Indiana Retired Teachers and Shelby County Retired Teachers. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Rev. Bob Campbell officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 34 W. Washington St., Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
