Marjorie Eloise Toon

Marjorie Eloise Toon, 95, of Shelbyville, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Morristown Manor in Morristown.

She was born on December 21, 1930, in Ray’s Crossing, the daughter of Ralph and Cecil (Neeb) Wilson. On June 20, 1953, she married John Marvin Toon, and he preceded her in death on July 29, 2023.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Tim Toon of Shelbyville; daughter, Janet Richardson and husband, Scott, of Shelbyville; brother, Wendell Wilson of Petersburg; grandchildren, Alex, J.D., and Daniel; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her cat, Roscoe.

In addition to John, Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; and brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Berniece Wilson.

Marjorie graduated from Manilla High School in 1948.

She worked for the Indiana State Highway Department from January of 1969 to April of 1994.

Marjorie enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, cooking and crocheting.

Graveside services will be at 11 am, Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown, with Jr. Nolen officiating. Friends may gather one-half hour prior to service.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelbyville-Shelby County Animal Shelter, 705 Hale Road, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
