Mark J. Baker

Mark J. Baker, 62, of Shelbyville, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at his home.

He was born on November 2, 1963, in St. Petersburg, Florida, the son of John Baker and Winifred (Homrighous) Mitchell.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Sarah Jean Baker of The Colony, Texas; brothers, Paul Baker of Shelbyville, and Mitch Mitchell of Boggstown; and best friend and partner, Terry Willey of Shelbyville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mark graduated high school in Trumbull, Connecticut.

He was a door greeter at Walmart, and had previously been a long-time employee of Hubler Collision Center.

Mark loved watching NASCAR. He enjoyed working on cars.

He also enjoyed being a homeowner and spending time in his home.

A Celebration of Mark’s life will be held at a later date.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
