Martha Louise Isley, 92, of Washington Township passed away Friday, February 14, 2020.
Louise was born on May 18, 1927, in Lewis Creek to Floyd B. Drake and Ruth Hageman Drake, who preceded her in death. She married the love of her life Garnet C. Isley on October 20, 1945. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2003.
Louise was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mae Rose Kessler and Betty McIntyre, and brothers Floyd Drake, Jr. and Donald Drake.
Survivors include two sons, Rick Isley (Vickie) and Reggie Isley (Jody) of Shelby County; five grandchildren, Dayna Isley (Greg Smith), Jake Isley (Sara), Beau Isley (Karla), Amy Isley (Allison), and Casey Pruitt (Kyle); twelve great-grandchildren, Kate, Kendall, Olivia, Colby, Molly, Benjamin, Beckett, Bridget, Genevieve, Elsa, Gabriel, and Hazel; and many nieces and nephews.
Louise was a farmer, lime hauler, and housewife. She and her husband Garnet had fun even while working hard. She loved the farm, her family and friends, and her church. She was a long-time member of Lewis Creek Baptist Church and an active 50-year member of the Norristown Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She will be remembered for her cackling laugh, her homemade pies and noodles, and her exceptional lawn mowing.
She was deeply loved and will be incredibly missed. Her family wishes to thank Ashford Place for the care and support provided over the last year.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020, at Lewis Creek Baptist Church, 1400 E 600 S, Waldron, Indiana (46182).
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with Pastor Harvey Taylor officiating.
Interment will be at Lewis Creek Cemetery.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
