Martina Marie Borden

Martina Marie Borden, 90, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. She was born February 21, 1928, in Hancock County, the daughter of Harris C. and Irene (Nedderman) Hill. On April 26, 1947, she married Merritt Arthur Border, and he preceded her in death on October 5, 2004. Martina is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sandy Mathies-Borden of Shelbyville; sister, Mickey Wendleman and husband, Jim; brother, Daniel Hill and wife, Brenda. In addition to Merritt, Martina was preceded in death by her son, Jerritt Borden; sisters, Carolyn Hill and Lutheria Stephens; and brothers, Tom Hill and Donald Hill. Martina graduated from Sunman High School. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Martina was a floral designer for Cossairt Florist, for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Chatty Charmers Home Economics Club. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1560 N.
