Mary Ellen Pleak, 60, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, November 24, 2007.
Born January 22, 1947, in Senecaville, Ohio, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth (Casner) Callahan. She married James E. Pleak Sr., on January 27, 1968, and he passed away Saturday.
Survivors include her son, James Pleak II of Shelbyville; sisters, Lawatta Malernee of Byesville, Ohio, and Nancy Tipton of Senecaville, Ohio; and granddaughter, Maureen Lee of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Eva Davis Callahan; daughter, Kimberly Pleak-Lee, who also passed away Saturday; and brothers, Howard Callahan and Bill Callahan.
Mrs. Pleak was a cosmetologist and homemaker. She was a previous owner and employee of Western Supermarket.
She graduated in 1965 from John Glenn High School in New Concord, Ohio.
Mrs. Pleak had attended Senecaville United Methodist Church as a child.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m., with Masonic and Eastern Star rites at 9 p.m., Thursday; and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street chapel, 819 s. Harrison St., is entrusted with the services.
