Mary "Joyce" Tresslar

Mary “Joyce” Tresslar,91, formerly of Boggstown and Fairland passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. She was born August 11, 1929, in Napoleon, the daughter of Edward and Cressa “Cy” (Waters) Harlamert. On October 21, 1949, she married Ronald Leon Tresslar, and he preceded her in death on September 24, 1986. Joyce is survived by her son, Kent Tresslar and wife, Debbie, of Fairland; daughter, Peggy Johnson and husband, Doug, of Indianapolis; brother, James Harlamert and wife, Elizabeth, of Boggstown; brother-in-law, John Tresslar and wife, Katherine, of Fairland; grandchildren, Cressa Rund and husband, Caleb, Kari Kermode and husband, Steve , Alisha Slaughter and husband, Kenny, Lindsey Lawlis and husband, Jon, and Derek Johnson and wife, Maggie; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to Ronald, Joyce was preceded in death by her parents. Joyce was a 1947 graduate of Boggstown High School. She was a member of the Boggstown Presbyterian Church. Joyce loved the time she spent caring for her family. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating. Interment will be at the Boggstown Cemetery in Boggstown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Riley Children’s Foundation, 30 S. Meridian St., Suite 200, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.
