Mary Marcille Leiter Peduto

Mary Marcille Leiter Peduto, formerly of Shelbyville passed away June 28, 2017 at IU Saxony Hospital in Fishers, Indiana, surrounded by family. Born Oct. 9, 1920 to Clarence and Pearl (Wood) Leiter, in LaOtto, Indiana. Mary graduated from Huntington High School in 1939. During WWII she worked at General Electric in Fort Wayne, also serving as president of the GE Elex Club For Women. She married Louis Peduto on Jan 30, 1954 and subsequently moved to Shelbyville, Indiana. Mary was a strong woman of principled beliefs who influenced others through her quiet example of steadfastness and character. A loving wife and mother who cherished her family. She worshipped and served in her church, along side her husband Louis, raising her children in their faith. She was a dedicated member of St Joseph Catholic Church and served as Eucharist Minister and member/president of St Anne's Altar Society for many years. The couple also volunteered on the Shelby County Election Board. Mary was a loving and committed mother, and active grandmother, taking delight in lives of her family, and finding joy in attending and participating in their many events. In later years Mary and Louie shared travels throughout the USA, Canada and abroad. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Glenn Leiter, Glade Leiter, Bob Leiter, Cleo (Pete) Leiter, and Ray Leiter; and sisters Carrie Russell, Helen Thorn, June Hadley, and Gladys McNabb; and recently her dear husband, Louis Peduto, and beloved son Angelo Peduto. Mary is survived by her sister, Dorothy Martin; and by her children, Michelle Berry, and husband, Benjamin, of Fort Wayne, Michael Peduto and wife, Keri, of Indianapolis, DeeDee Peduto, wife of Angelo of Indianapolis, and Gina Coombs and husband Brad, of Fishers; grandchildren, Luke, Joshua, Marria, Anna, Adrian, Gia, Heather, Rachel, Louis, and Arianna; and great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Dominic, Sebastian, Elijah, Alex and Emelia. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 125 East Broadway Street in Shelbyville, with Father Mike Keucher and Father Bill Ernstes officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St. in Churubusco. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Father Frances Chukwum officiating. Interment will be at Hooper King Cemetery in Noble County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Louis and Mary Peduto Scholarship Fund for the benefit of students of St. Joseph School in care of Blue River Foundation, 54 West Broadway St., Shelbyville, IN 46176 or St. Anne’s Altar Society, 125 E.
