Melissa Lynn "Missy" Hardin

Melissa Lynn “Missy” Hardin, 54, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 at her home. She was born November 18, 1964, in Shelbyville, the daughter of David Hardin and Marilyn (Jackson) Saunders. Missy is survived by her father and step-mother, Dave and Rosie Hardin, of Shelbyville; mother, Marilyn Saunders of Shelbyville; sons, Joseph Wright and wife, Jenn, of Seymour, and Brandon Wright of Columbus; daughter, Alisha Wright of Columbus; sisters, Wendi Farlow and husband, Buddy, and Amanda Oyerbides, both of Shelbyville, Heather Sorg and husband, Chris, of Campbellsburg; brothers, Bryan Hartung and wife, Lynn and Matthew Hardin and wife, Jenny, both of Shelbyville; companion, Johnny Edwards of Shelbyville; and seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Peggy Jo Saunders and Jaime Saunders; and step-father, Fred Saunders. Missy graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1982. She attended First Baptist Church in Shelbyville. Missy had an outgoing personality, and she enjoyed camping. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Rev. Beth Crouch officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
