Michael Earnest Dean, 60, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 in Shelby County. He was born October 27, 1959, in Shelbyville, the son of Earnest Harold Dean and Marilyn June (Asher) McDaniel. Michael is survived by his mother, Marilyn June McDaniel and husband, Jess, of Shelbyville; father, Earnest Harold Dean and wife, Marilyn; sister, Sheri K. Crist and husband, Dale, of Fountaintown; brother-in-law, Noble Harley of Fairland; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Teri D. Harley. Michael graduated in 1978 from Shelbyville High School and received his bachelors degree in electronics from IUPUI. He was a member of Calvary Tabernacle and attended Fairland Christian Church. A gathering of friends will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Fairland Christian Church, 109 Mulberry Street in Fairland. The celebration of Michael’s life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Rev. Leslie Bearden officiating. Inurnment at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville will be at a later date. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to Shelby County-Shelbyville Animal Shelter, 705 Hale Road, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
