Mildred Marie “Millie” Parker, 87, of Shelbyville, formerly of Fairland, passed away Friday, December 25, 2020 at her daughter’s home.
She was born December 15, 1933, in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Alva and Evelyn (Rhoden) Fulk. On March 21, 1973, she married Larry Parker, and he preceded her in death on November 28, 2006.
Millie is survived by her daughter, Pam Jones and husband, Robert, of Shelbyville; brother, Jr. Fulk of Springfield; grandchildren, Teddie Jones, Jeremy Jones, Tabitha Peyton, Casey Jones, Natalie Horton, Walt Kilbride and Tammy Avery; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to Larry, Millie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Evelyn Kilbride; sisters, Naomi Crable and Thelma Bradley; brothers, John Fullk and Bill Meadings; and grandson, Mike Rouse.
Millie graduated from Hayward School in Springfield.
She was a nurses’ aide at Major Hospital from 1968 to 1972. She also owned and operated Millie and Larry’s Fish Fry in Fairland and Shelbyville, until retiring in 2005.
Millie was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She enjoyed crocheting.
Millie loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her dog, Sheba.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/freemanffh.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, CDC guidelines requiring a mask and social distancing will be observed.
