Mona L. (Hidy) Beach

Mona L. (Hidy) Beach, of Inglis, Florida passed away Monday, February  27, 2023, of recent heart complications.  She was born in Portland on March 17, 1958, to Richard Sr. And Peggy (Zimmerman) Hidy.

Mona graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1976 and soon after moved to Naples, Florida and began her 30 + year career with Florida Power and Light.  She spent countless hours, days and weeks helping to coordinate power restoration efforts to hurricane affected communities.  In her spare time she and her husband were avid fishermen as well as entrepreneurs.  She also enjoyed crafting and devoting her time to helping  family and friends.  She was a little lady with a big heart.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Howard Beach of Inglis; father, Richard Hidy Sr. of Shelbyville; mother-in-law, Darla Dunson of Fort Myers, Florida; sister, Sue Ann Dittrich and husband, Bill, of Indianapolis; brother, Alan Hidy of Shelbyville; sister-in-law, Connie Hidy of Montpelier and Connersville; brothers-in-law, Rusty Beach and wife, Vicki of Mississippi and Shane Beach and wife, Kim of Connersville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Hidy; father-in-law, Joe Beach; brother, Richard Hidy Jr.; and brother-in-law, James “JC” Beach.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church, 34 W. Washington St. in Shelbyville. Friends may gather one-half hour prior to the service.

Inurnment will be at Noon on Monday, August 7, 2023, at the IOOF Twin Hills Cemetery in Pennville.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
