Nancy Jean Grimes

Nancy Jean Grimes, 75, of Gwynneville, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville. She was born September 30, 1946, in Connersville, Fayette County, the daughter of Howard Edward and Virginia Mae (Byroad) Stephen. On December 20, 1981, she married Kenneth Grimes, and he survives. In addition of Kenneth, Nancy is survived by her three daughters, Angela Hulen and husband, Terry, of New Palestine, Lisa Bundy of Gwynneville, and Billie Scrogham and husband, Michael, of Franklin; brother, Rev. William Stephen and wife, Patty, of Avon; sisters, Ada Morris of Morristown, Juanita Patterson of Chapin, South Carolina, and Sandra Houston of Arizona City, Arizona; brother-in-law, David Martin of Texas; sisters-in-law, Debbie Stephen of Carthage, and Dorothy Stephen of Rushville; grandchildren, Terry and wife, Khari, Shadrach and wife, Brittany, Nicholas, Raquel, Dylan, Douglas, Abigail and significant other, Hunter, Mya, Gracie and Apollo; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her furbabies, Smokie, Sadie and Ruby, and several feral cats. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Cherilyne L. “Cher” Martin, Shirley Ann Stephen and Kathy Lady; brothers, Edward L. Stephen, Chuck Stephen, Jerry “JD” Stephen and Marion Stephen; brothers-in-law, Richard Morris, Ronnie Patterson and Olin Houston; and a sister-in-law, Louise Stephen. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield. Nancy and her husband, Kenneth, owned and operated Pearl Custom Plastic Molding in Gwynneville, for 35 years. She enjoyed camping and going fishing. Nancy loved her family and cherished the time she spent creating wonderful memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Bethel Baptist Church, 1610 S. State St. in Greenfield. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with Pastor Tommy Hensley and Brother Randall Parker officiating. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
