Norbert Joseph "Bud" Meltzer

Norbert Joseph “Bud” Meltzer, 62, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Greenfield.

He was born February 7, 1961, in Shelbyville, the son of Norbert Joseph Sr. and Betty Catherine (Holbrook) Meltzer.

Bud is survived by his son, John Meltzer of Shelbyville; step-son, James Campbell and wife, Talitha, of Waldron; sister, Melissa Noel of Shelbyville; step-grandchildren, Matthew, Xander and Ella; niece, Jasmine Hook and husband, Dillon, of Shelbyville; great-niece, Ivy; and great-nephew, Nash.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Elizabeth Ann Meltzer.

In 1979, Bud graduated from Shelbyville High School.

He was a member of Crossroads Community Church, Shelbyville American Legion Post No. 70, Eagles Aerie Lodge No. 766 and Morristown American Legion Post No. 102.

Bud enjoyed collecting toy semi-trucks, tinkering, attending truck shows and watching NASCAR.

The Celebration of Bud’s life will be held at a later date.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
