Patricia S. "Susie" Abrams

Patricia S. “Susie” Abrams, 65, of Fairland, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.

She was born October 25, 1957, in Lawrence, the daughter of Otto and Cecelia Culley.  On September 3, 1977, she married Gary Frank Abrams, and he preceded her in death on September 21, 2017.

Susie is survived by her significant other, Michael Jessup of Fairland; grandchildren, Maycie Abrams, Taylor Prange and Dylan Prange; and great-granddaughter, Delilah Turner.

In addition to Gary, Susie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Christina Abrams McQuade; and brother, Bill Culley.

Susie graduated in 1975, from Lawrence High School.

She was a member of New Life United Methodist Church.

Susie formerly owned JA Fire Exteriors, which she sold and took over the ownership and operation of JA Fire Protection, after her husband passed away.

She enjoyed racing, camping, going to the beach and on motorcycle rides.  Susie also enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and having a good time.

Susie also leaves behind her dogs, Tinkerbelle and Stella, as well as, her cat, Bojangles.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, with Rev. Jolita Eberle officiating.

Inurnment will be at Washington Park East Cemetery, at a later date.
