Patricia Ann "Pat" Carlton

Patricia Ann “Pat” Carlton, 89, of Morristown passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville. She was born August 17, 1931, in Shelby County, the daughter of James and Helen (Tracy) Nugent. On July 1, 1950, she married Richard Allen “Dick” Carlton, and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2011. Pat is survived by her son, Roger A. Carlton and wife, Donna, of Fountaintown; daughter, Diana L. Terry of Morristown; brothers, Charles Nugent and wife, Gayle, of Morristown, and Kenneth Nugent and wife, Michael, of Greenfield; grandsons, Royce, Ryan and Reece Carlton; granddaughter, Megan Engleking and husband, Kyle; great-grandchildren, Madison and Wesley Engleking; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to Dick, Pat was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughters, Carol Sue Carlton and Melinda Irene Carlton; brother, John Nugent; and grandson, Kevin Terry. Pat graduated in 1949 from Morristown High School. She was a member of the Morristown United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women’s group. Pat formerly owned a ceramic shop for several years. She enjoyed playing cards, especially hand and foot. Pat also enjoyed watching sports, especially Indiana University basketball. Visitation will be at 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morristown United Methodist Church, 221 S. Washington St., Morristown, Indiana 46161.
