Patsy J. "Patti" Mitchell

Patsy J. “Patti” Mitchell, 79, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, June 28, 2021, at Heritage House of Shelbyville. She was born January 1, 1942, in Bristol, Virginia, the daughter of Henry Preston White and Margaret Lynn (Simerly) Whitson. Patti is survived by her sons, Jeffrey C. Decker of Columbus, and Nathan G. Mitchell of Shelbyville; daughters, Ginger L. Perry of Greensburg, and Jeanne Decker of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Gretchen L. Johnson of Shelbyville; sister, Ruby Jane Bennett of Shelbyville; brother, Lew Whitson of Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Benjamin Snow White. Patti attended from Washington College Academy in Washington, Tennessee. She helped organize kindergarten in Morristown. Patti enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved animals especially cats. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
