Paul J. Kelley

Paul J. Kelley, 74, of Camby passed away Monday, December 30, 2019 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born January 4, 1945, in Indianapolis, the son of Paul “Ray” and Jewel Mai (Halliburton) Kelley. On July 6, 1990, he married Danese Holland, and she survives. In addition to Danese, Paul is survived by his children, Kim Gill and husband, Ron, of Franklin, Jason Stoneking and wife, Becky, of New Palestine, Michelle Shircliff and husband, Jeromy, of Shelbyville, Erica Tyler and husband, Timothy, of Indianapolis, Dawn Cowan and husband, Carl, of Edinburgh, and Kristal Frain and husband, Doug, of Mulberry, Florida; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Kelley; sister, Ella Mai Kelley; grandson, Jacob Stoneking; and great-granddaughter, Penelope Dessify. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and received a Purple Heart for his service, during the Vietnam War. Paul retired in 1998 from General Motors, with 30 years of service. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, going fishing and hunting, and tinkering. Paul loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his dogs, Chloe and Tink, and was preceded in death by his dogs, P.J. and Sparky. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2020 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fairland Cemetery in Fairland, with military graveside rites conducted by the local military committee.
