Polly Lee Morton

Polly Lee Morton, 77, of Fairland passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at her residence. She was born October 13, 1940, in Isom, Kentucky, the daughter of Ike and Glessie (Combs) Maggard. She married Aster Morton on November 19, 1956, and he preceded her in death on April 19. 1995. Polly is survived by her sons, Eric Morton and wife, Barbara of Centerville, David Morton and wife, Elizabeth, of Indianapolis, and Jesse Morton of Shelbyville; daughters, Joyce Samsil and husband, Jeffrey of Shelbyville, and Loryann Lingerfelter and husband, Dennis, of Madison, Alabama; grandchildren, Krystal Morton, Asean Lingerfelter and Ian Lingerfelter; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to Aster, Polly was preceded in death by her parents; and several brothers and sisters. Polly was formerly a nurses’ aide at the Ace Plaza and Marion County Nursing Home. She attended Sugar Creek Baptist Church. Polly enjoyed spending time with her family. She also leaves behind her kitten, Sammy. Private family services will be observed. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
