Ree Jean Frazee

Ree Jean Frazee, 88, of Waldron passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. She was born June 15, 1930, in Shelbyville, the daughter of George Jr. and Edna (Ford) Dow. On May 6, 1951, she married Ray D. Frazee, and he preceded her in death on October 5, 2014. Ree Jean is survived by her sons, Steven R. Frazee of Waldron, and Mark D. Frazee and wife, Catherine, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Kira D. Thomas, Sirena L. Shouse, Benihiah J. Frazee, David R. Frazee, Jacob M. Frazee, John C. Frazee, Amanda E. Frazee and Katherine S. Frazee; great-grandchildren, Hannah Shouse, Alyssa Shouse, Hudson Shouse, Gracelyn R. Thomas, Elana Frazee and Titus Frazee; and cousin, Earl Lambert of Rushville. In addition to Ray, Ree Jean was preceded in death by her parents; and cousin, James Lambert. Ree Jean graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1948 and the Methodist School of Nursing in 1950. She was a registered nurse at Heritage House Convalescent Center and Methodist Hospital. Ree Jean retired from nursing in 1992, after 22 years of service in Dr. Tower’s office. Ree Jean loved animals and farming with Ray. A Gathering of Friends will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. A Celebration of Ree Jean’s life will be at noon at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelbyville-Shelby County Animal Shelter, 705 Hale Road, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176 or Riley’s Children Foundation, 30 South Meridian St., Suite 200, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.
