Rex W. Hayton

Rex W. Hayton, 74, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, at his home. He was born February 2, 1947, in Shelbyville, the son of Milroy and Amelia (Hull) Hayton. On July 17, 1988, he married Jo Ann Denison, and she survives. In addition to Jo Ann, Rex is survived by his daughters, Michelle Taylor and husband, Billy, Julie Sexton and husband, Clete, and Lori Wilson and husband, Brian, all of Shelbyville; son, Bradley Hayton and wife, Tristian, of Shelbyville; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Rex graduated in 1965 from Shelbyville High School. He formerly worked as a fabricator, until retirement in 2010. Rex enjoyed restoring cars. A gathering of friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
