He was born on October 19, 1967, in Beech Grove, the son of Richard McClelland Simpson II and Laura (Kuhns) Williamson. Richard attended Southport High School and after graduation he proudly served in the US Navy, seeing active duty aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt. He loved computers and the internet. He loved Star Trek, especially Deep Space 9, and some of his favorite stuff to watch was on YouTube. He was the self-appointed “Admiral O.F. Doom” online and enjoyed researching and writing for his Indiana Transportation History blog as well as being the host of his “Short Attention Span Theatre” and “History with R&R” on YouTube. He will always be remembered for his tagline “Just an Observation.” He worked at the Home Depot in Carmel, and Greenfield and loved his job. In addition to his wife Paula, Richard is survived by his parents; brother, Aaron Simpson; son, Rorik Simpson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pat and Patricia Trefun; and his cats, Milo, Peyton aka Meatball and Manning aka Locutus.
