Robert Eugene “Bob” Alexander, 66, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Greenfield.
He was born March 29, 1954, in Shelby County, the son of Otis M. and Josephine L. (Borden) Alexander.
Bob is survived by his son, Ryan Alexander of Morristown; brothers, Jim Alexander and wife, Janette, of Waldron, Maurice Alexander and wife, Debra; sister, Becky Treon of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Hannah Alexander and Indiana Alexander; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Sophie Alexander; brothers, Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Alexander and Teddy Ray Alexander; and infant sister, Beverly Jo Alexander.
Bob graduated in 1972 from Triton Central High School.
He retired from C-Tech, as an operating engineer, with over 30 years of service.
Bob was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union No. 103.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially going fishing. Bob also enjoyed all sports, especially basketball and softball.
Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was always willing to lend a helping hand to others.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2020, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating.
Interment will be at Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
