Robert Glenn Huddleston, age 91, of New Palestine, Indiana, formerly of Weaverville, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Hancock Health Hospital. Glenn was born in Byrdstown, Tennessee, on June 22, 1934, to Ben and Bessie (Dishman) Huddleston.
He graduated from Pickett County High School and later attended Ivy Tech Community College. Glenn married the love of his life, Betty, on July 2, 1987, and she survives.
Glenn proudly served in the United States Army. He enjoyed a 42-year career with RCA, during which he and Betty relocated to Weaverville, North Carolina, as he oversaw the opening of a new factory. Retirement did little to slow him down—he and Betty spent many years painting and renovating for friends. They also enjoyed traveling together, especially their many beach vacations.
In addition to Betty, Glenn is survived by his sons, Michael Huddleston of Lorinda, Florida, Terry Hansome and his wife Jodi of Fairland. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Zachary Huddleston (Ky Nicole), Kasey Huddleston, Ryan Hansome (Julie Baughman), Haley Hansome, and Corey Hansome (Krisey); and great-grandchildren: Kiyah, Benjamin, Charlotte, and Kyler.
Glenn enjoyed cheering on the Atlanta Braves, watching football, and following NASCAR. He was known for his positive, outgoing personality—never meeting a stranger—and for his quick wit. He always found the bright side in any situation and was often the first to offer a compliment.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Earl Huddleston and Max Huddleston; and his sisters, Emmogene Huddleston, Ethel Huddleston, and Christine Huddleston. Several nieces and nephews.
Private services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fisher House for Veterans.
