Robin Aaron "Rob" Lovitt

Robin Aaron “Rob” Lovitt, 64, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021, at his home. He was born August 23, 1956, in Shelbyville, the son of Kenneth and Joy (Thurston) Lovitt. Rob is survived by his significant other, Pat Newbold of Shelbyville; sons, Aaron Lovitt and Michael Lovitt and wife, Katie, of Shelbyville: daughters, Misti Mack and significant other, Amy Moore, of Shelbyville, and Grace Mockerman and wife, January, of Indianapolis; step-daughter, Carley Spalding of Shelbyville; step-sons, Bryan Newbold and wife, Bobi, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Nathaniel Newbold and wife, Brenda, of Shelbyville; sisters, Beth Crouch and husband, Tim, of Shelbyville, and Christine Lovitt of Flat Rock; grandchildren, Trystin, Ariana, Dylan, Kirra, Eian, Kinsley, Matthew, Vincent, Nicholas, Mitchell, Sylvia, Kaydon, Pamela, Parker, Connor and Isabella; great-grandson, Emmett; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Rob attended Shelbyville High School. He retired as a diesel mechanic in 2018. Rob enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, shooting pool and throwing darts. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, going to the beach and swimming. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating. A Celebration of Rob’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2021, at the Westside Pub.
