Ronald L. Crafton

Ronald L. “Cowboy” Crafton, 82, of St. Paul passed away on June 15, 2021, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, in Columbus. Ron was born the third child of Frank and Jessie (Kinney) Crafton on Dec. 4, 1938. He married Carol Gurney on Feb. 9, 1957 with whom he had six children, Donna, Ronnett (Tom), Frank (partner, Diana), Naomi (L. Joe), Thelma (Troy), Zelma Diann (late, Dave). Grandchildren: Michael (partner, Arlene), Kelly (JayR), Cari, Cheyann, Josie, Josh (wife Stacy), Jodi, Kevin, Kathryn (Ethan), Caitlyn (partner, Chad) and Nikita. He leaves 19 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, brother and sister-in-law Thomas (Doris), sister, Margaret “Joan” (Harold) granddaughter: Jessie, grandsons: L. Daniel “Danny” (widow, Jessie) and Ronald “Ronny” Wayne. Mr. Crafton was an avid horse lover and coon hunter. His major employers were, KCL Corp, Cummins Engine and Atlas Cold Storage. Private family services were entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Inurnment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, in Shelby County.
