Ronnie L. Linville, 76, of Morristown passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at Morristown Manor. He was born May 27, 1942 in Rush County, the son of Sharon “S.E.” and Caroline Priscilla (Macy) Linville. On June 18, 1966, he married Sandra M. “Sandy” King, and she preceded him in death on February 3, 2018. Ronnie is survived by his daughters, Beth Marie Linville and Carol Diane Linville, both of Shelbyville; brothers, Keith E. Linville and wife, Diane, and David E. Linville, both of Morristown, Paul E. Linville and wife, Karen, and William F. Linville, both of Arlington; sister, Violet L. Ramsey of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to Sandy, Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents. Ronnie was a 1960 graduate of Arlington High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in forestry from Purdue University. He was a very active life-time member of the Little Blue River Friends Church. Ronnie served his church in many capacities such as being a door greeter, an usher and one very important job “the candy man” passing peppermints to everyone. He was also a Sunday school teacher, and Christian education and junior youth group leader. Ronnie and Sandy made learning the Bible both fun and interesting for the youth at Little Blue River Friends Church, by rewarding their efforts of memorizing the books of the Bible, with a wiener roast. Ronnie also served on the Little Blue River Friends Cemetery board. He was a true outdoorsman. Ronnie enjoyed raising rabbits, exploring the woods and fishing. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2019 and from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastors Mike Linville and Markus Dennis officiating. Interment will be at the Little Blue River Friends Cemetery in Rush County. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideon’s International, PO Box 452, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
