Roselyn Keppel, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at her home in Indianapolis.

She was born October 12, 1947 in Shelbyville, the daughter of Edward “Bud” and Catherine (Hey) Keppel.

Roselyn is survived by her niece, Cindi (Alan) Livingston, nephew David (Arlene) Parker, great-nephews Ian Livingston and Benjamin Parker; and great-nieces Eileen Livingston, Caitlyn Parker, and Emily Parker, as well as brother-in-law Bill (Kathi) Parker.

She also leaves behind her cousins Sandra (Pherigo) Piercy, Martin Hey, Elizabeth (Hey) Harmon, Kathleen (Hey) Miller, and Lou Ann (Linsmith) Tabor, as well as many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Cheryl (Keppel) Parker, and cousin James Pherigo.

Roselyn graduated from Southwestern High School in Shelbyville in 1965. She graduated from Ball State University as a medical technologist. She moved to Indianapolis where she was employed by St. Vincent’s Hospital lab services (later transitioned to Mid-America Clinical Labrotaries) where she remained a dedicated employee until her retirement at the end of 2015. Following her much deserved retirement, she most enjoyed spending her time with family, friends, and cats, delving into her long term genealogy research, and volunteering at Cats Haven, an Indianapolis sanctuary for special needs and senior cats and kittens.

Roselyn was a former member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Indianapolis and of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. Roselyn was also a member of the Swingin’ Singles and Indy B’N’B Square dance clubs of Indianapolis.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 pm, Friday, March 27, 2026, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will follow at 2:30 pm, at the funeral home, with Pastor Charles Jordan officiating.

Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cats Haven, 2603 N. College Ave., Indianapolis, Indiana.
