Rosemary Matchett

Rosemary Matchett, 71, of Shelbyville, died Friday, May 13, 2005, at Community Hospital East, in Indianapolis. Born July 8, 1933, in Geneva, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late John and Philomena Eannetta. She married James N. Matchett on Oct. 6, 1979, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 1991. Survivors include one daughter, Becky Brown of St. Louis, Mo.; one son, David (wife, Debra) Brown of Richmond; two brothers, Larry Eannetta of Ithaca, N.Y., and Bill Eannetta of Waterloo, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Katie Brown and Ryan Brown. She also was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Matchett moved to Shelbyville 26 years ago from Rushville. She had been a teller at Rush County National Bank for 19 years and also employed with Bedell and Malson Law Office, in Rushville. She was employed with Shelby National Bank and the former Public Service Indiana, in Shelbyville. Mrs. Matchett was a volunteer with the Mental Health Society, in Rushville, and for 12 years with Shelby County Republican Party. She was a member of Rushville City Council for nine years, where she was the first woman council member, and P.E.O. Chapter AL, in Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Funeral Home, 819 S. Harrison St. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Girls Inc., 904 S. Miller St., Shelbyville, IN 46176; or Hospice of Shelby County, 110 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
