Rozella I. Bakes, 86, of St. Paul, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville. She was born November 18, 1935, in Shelby County, the daughter of John James and Bertha Mae (Spurling) Bakes. Rozella is survived by her brother, James Bakes and wife, Darnell; and numerous nieces and nephews including her caregiver, Karen Lewis of St. Paul. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Louisa Kimmel; and brother, John D. Bakes. Rozella graduated in 1953 from St. Paul High School. She was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church. Rozella retired from food service, and had previously worked in the kitchens of Jean’s Bakery in Greensburg, and Waldron Health Care. She enjoyed reading mystery novels. A Celebration of Rozella’s Life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Star Cemetery in Decatur County. Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Fellowship Church, 7414 E.
