Ruth Ann Lemen

Ruth Ann Lemen, 83, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville of Covid-19. She was born April 20, 1937, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Carlton and Helen (Heck) Bennett. On April 7, 1957, she married her husband of 63 years, Lawrence “Larry” Lemen, and he survives. In addition to Larry, Ruth is survived by her daughter, Deborah Muldoon of Edinburgh; sister, Kay Hamner of Shelbyville; granddaughter, Kerri Coffey and husband, Paul; grandson, Eric Muldoon and girlfriend, Eryn Hopper; great-granddaughter, Caroline Coffey; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son-in-law, Lawrence “Wray” Muldoon. Ruth graduated in 1955 from Shelbyville High School. She formerly worked at JC Penney and was a housewife. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, CDC guidelines requiring a mask and social distancing will be observed.
