Sandra F. Delk

Sandra F. Delk, 82, of Fairland, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at her home.

She was born on August 10, 1943, in Benham, Kentucky, the daughter of Samuel M. Cope and Eula Gertrude (Neely) Cope Harrell McCarty. On November 30, 1973, she married Bruce Wayne Delk, and he preceded her in death on May 17, 1995.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Sameia Calhoun and husband, Jeff, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Alleson Woods and husband, Matt, and Bruce Calhoun and wife, Megan; and great-grandchildren, Noah Woods, Ethan Woods and Samuel Calhoun.

In addition to Bruce, Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; son, Samuel H. Purvis; sister, Samme Kaye Gladson; and brother-in-law, Carl Edward “Ed” Gladson.

She graduated from Benham High School in 1963.

Sandra was a telephone banker for Chase Bank for over 15 years.

She loved her family and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sandra enjoyed sewing and crocheting.

Private graveside services at Fairland Cemetery have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funerarl Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
