Sandra Kay “Sandy” Pryor, 72, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Morristown Manor in Morristown.
She was born May 25, 1950, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Cecil and Chloe (Copass) McCreary. She married Ben Pryor Jr. on August 23, 1967, and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2016.
Sandra is survived by her sons, Frederick “Fred” Pryor of Shelbyville, and Jeff Pryor and wife, Lisa, of Fountaintown; brothers, Gary McCreary and wife, Connie, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Cary McCreary and wife, Vilay, of Rockvalle, Tennessee, Kevin McCreary and wife, Darlene of Bean Blossom, and Kenny McCreary of Indianapolis; sisters, Judy Short and husband Paul, of Fairland, and Pamela McCreary of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Daren, Jacob, Ben and Ellyssa; great-granddaughter, Greylynn; close friend and neighbor, Vickie McCalip of Shelbyville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Linda Fay McCreary.
Sandy graduated in 1968 from Arlington High School.
She was a member of New Life United Methodist Church.
Sandy was the head cook at Triton Central Schools for 10 years, retiring in 2010.
She was also a member of the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS), where she enjoyed shooting competitions.
Sandy also leaves behind her dog, Bella.
Visitation will be from 10 am to Noon, Saturday, April 22, 2023, at New Life United Methodist Church, 6145 N 400 W, Fairland.
Funeral services will follow at Noon, at the church.
Interment will be at Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
