Sandra L. "Sandy" Thornburgh

Sandra L. “Sandy” Thornburgh, 66, of Fairland, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at her home.

She was born on October 20, 1959, in Indianapolis, the daughter of George Dennis and Martha Louise (McClellan) Williams.

Sandy is survived by her children, Zachary Thornburgh of Fairland, Aneta Bell of Flat Rock, and Jeremiah “Frog” Bell of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Lucas and Airiana; great-granddaughter, Hazley Louise; husband, Jeffrey Thornburg; brothers, Mike Williams of Princes Lake, and Dennis Williams of Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents; Sandy was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Eugene Williams and Ronald Williams.

Sandy attended Arsenal Technical High School.

She formerly worked as a stock person for Tractor Supply and also had previously owned her own cleaning business.

Sandy enjoyed listening to music, tending to her flowers and frogs.

Her biggest joy was spending time with her family. Sandy was a wonderful mother, always making certain she was available to support her children in their extracurricular activities.

A gathering of friends and family will be from 2 to 3 pm, Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

The Celebration of Sandy’s life will follow.
