Sharon L. Henderson

Sharon L. Henderson, 79, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023, at Hancock  Regional Hospital in Greenfield.

She was born May 14, 1944, in New Castle, the daughter of Noel and Alice (Smith) Bright.  On January 21, 1967, she married Charles Wagoner, and he preceded her in death on August 24, 1989.  On January 1, 1997, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hallgarth.

Sharon is survived by her son, Barry Bright and wife, Charity, of Greenfield; daughter, Mary (Bright) Forney of Greenfield; sisters, Anna Mae Gifford and husband, Bobby, of Fort Wayne and Rebecca Walker of Muncie; brother, Charles Bright and wife, Patty, of Shelbyville; grandsons, Benjamin Bright, Daniel Bright and Adam Bright; great-grandsons, Colton Clark, Cashton Clark and Dante Bright; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George Bright and Ronald  Bright; and grandchildren, Allison Forney and Ashely Bright.

In 1964, she graduated from Knightstown High School.

Sharon was a very active and devoted member of Park Chapel Christian Church, where she enjoyed volunteering to help with numerous events.

She formerly worked in various retail stores, until retiring in 2019.

Sharon was also a member of the Fortville VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She was a social butterfly, didn’t know a stranger and enjoyed playing bingo and euchre.

Visitation will be from 10 am to Noon, Friday, August 11, 2023, at Freeman Family  Funeral Homes and Crematory,  Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will follow at Noon, at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Richland Cemetery in Rush County.
