Sharon Jane White

Sharon Jane White, 72, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at her residence. She was born January 16, 1946, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Walter M. and Ethel Jane (Holmes) Merrick. Sharon is survived by her son, John A. Lyke of Shelbyville; daughter, Shana White of Shelbyville; brothers, William M. “Moxy” Merrick of Waldron and John Craig of Columbus; sisters, Kathy Green and husband, Richard, of Morristown, Lois Kincaid and Nancy Thurman, both of Shelbyville; grandchildren, John Lyke Jr., Jaymi White, Angela Sampiere and Matthew Benge II; several cousins including Dorothy Anne Mentzer of Shelbyville; friend, Roger White of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Debra Merrick. Sharon attended Shelbyville Community Church. She was formerly a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Sharon enjoyed playing euchre and dice. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2018 at Forest Hill Cemetery, 704 Morris Avenue in Shelbyville. A Celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at a later date. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
