Sharon K. (Bennett) Hamner

Sharon K. (Bennett) Hamner, 81, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Franklin Meadows in Franklin. She was born November 5, 1940, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Carl Harold and Helen Irene (Heck) Bennett. On June 17, 1961, she married Larry Allen Hamner, and he preceded her in death on March 8, 2010. Sharon is survived by her daughter, Laurie A. Woods of Shelbyville; sons, Bret Alan Hamner of Greenfield, and Brad Allen Hamner of Shelbyville; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to Larry, Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruth Ann Lemen; and granddaughter, Tara Ashton Phares. Sharon graduated in 1959 from Shelbyville High School. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
