Sidney Hensley Jr.

Sidney Hensley Jr., 81, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Altenheim Family-first Senior Living in Indianapolis.

He was born on October 1, 1945, the son of Sidney and Mary Bell (Combs) Hensley. On July 19, 1987, he married Carolyn Christina Stidd, and she preceded him in death on August 27, 2024.

Sid is survived by his children, Sidney Hensley III, Stuart Hensley, Robert Hiner, Scott Hiner, and Courtney Hiner; sister, Vinna Lucas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to Carolyn, Sid was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Josephine Spangler.

Sid was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He formerly owned and operated Sid Hensley Construction, Inc., a concrete construction company. He also worked with ACI Construction.

Sid was a member of the American Legion Post No. 88.

Visitation will be from 10 am to Noon, Monday, October 12, 2026, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.

Funeral services will follow at the funeral home, with Chaplain Charlie Ketchen officiating.

Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
