Stephan Alois Beyer

Stephan Alois Beyer, 76, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.

He was born June 16, 1945, in Shelbyville, the son of John Jr. and Betty (Cunningham) Beyer.  On October 13, 1972, he married Shirley Ann Green, and she survives.

In addition to Shirley, Steve is survived by his daughter Michelle (Beyer) Lozier of Waldron; sons, Robert A. Beyer and wife, Jennifer of Shelbyville, Douglas Crane of Waldron, and David Crane of Shelbyville; brothers, Thomas Beyer and wife, Mary, of Geneva, and Timothy Beyer of Greensburg; sister, Rose Mary Sheedy of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Darwin, Maya, Avian, Jessica, Cheyenne, Lillian, Ashley, Justin, Stephan, Courtney and David Michael; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Michael J. Beyer and Paul David Beyer; and sister, Alice A. Bottorff.

Steve was a lifelong Shelby County resident and graduated from Waldron High School.

He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era.

Steve was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and American Legion Post No. 70.

He had worked as a supervisor and project manager for Runnebohm Construction, retiring with over 50 years of service.

Steve enjoyed woodworking.

He also leaves behind his faithful dog, Charlie.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville, with the rosary recited at 7:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2022 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 4218 E. Michigan Road, in Shelbyville, Indiana.

Interment will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the local military committee.
