Steven Earl Macy, 75, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. He was born August 6, 1945, in Beech Grove, the son of T.S. and Marie Eileen (Ramsey) Macy. On July 22, 1967, he married his devoted and loving wife of 53 years, Janie (Fuchs) Macy, and she survives. In addition to Janie, Steve is survived by his son, Thomas Macy of Shelbyville; sisters, Lois Macy and Kathy Groves, both of Fishers; brother-in-law, Brent Fuchs and Lisa, of Shelbyville; two nieces; two nephews, five great-nephews; and one great-niece. Steve was preceded in death by his parents. He graduated in 1963 from Arlington High School. Steve was the supervisor of tool services at Navistar International retiring in 2008, with 43 years of service. He was formerly very active and dedicated to the Morristown Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as Fire Chief. He was a Master Firefighter and Instructor. Steve also was the former District 10 Chairman of the IVFA. Steve was also a former member of the Morristown Lions Club. He enjoyed doing woodworking, and going fishing and hunting. Steve was a motorcycle enthusiast. He also enjoyed loading gun ammunition. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 911 E. 86th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240.
