Steven R. Musgrave

Steven R. Musgrave, 71, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. He was born October 8, 1950, in Kenton, Ohio, the son of Francis “Jr” and Patricia Anne (Keckler) Musgrave. On August 22, 1975, he married his high school sweetheart, Denise Grace Lusk, and she survives. In addition to Denise, Steve is survived by his daughters, Sarah Lewis and husband, Wade, and Jessica Musgrave and John Renbarger, both of Shelbyville; sisters, Gloria Nash and husband, Alan, and Lori Dickmann, both of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Colin Mohr, Connor Mohr, Hannah Mohr, Maxwell Musgrave and Cooper Leffler; step-grandchildren, Erika Renbarger, Sara Lewis, Max Lewis, Cooper Lewis, Sam Lewis, Izzy Lewis; and step-great-granddaughter, Amara Lewis. He also leaves behind his dog, Mike. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Randall S. “Randy” Musgrave. Steve graduated in 1969 from Shelbyville High School. He retired as the plant manager at Johnson Controls in 1999. After retiring, he ran the family business, Musgrave Utility. Steve was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine and the NRA. He loved his farm, with its lake and river, which he referred to as “a little piece of heaven.” Steve enjoyed playing cards, going fishing, gardening, reading and tinkering around the farm. He loved his family and cherished the memories he created with them. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Snyder Cemetery in Shelby County.
