Susan Jane Bard, 67, of Shelbyville, radiated warmth and love as she embarked on her eternal journey on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Hospital in Indianapolis, leaving cherished memories for all who knew her.
Born on August 4, 1958, in Columbus, she was the shining light of Donald and Janet (Short) Daum's family. On January 30, 1993, she joyfully united with Duane Curtis Bard in marriage, and his love and support were hers until her last breath, and he survives her.
Alongside Duane, Susan's loving legacy lives on through her devoted daughter, Amanda Bard of Shelbyville; her precious granddaughter, Raina Bard of Shelbyville; her sister, Teresa Daum Pifer of Brown County; brother, Steven Daum and his wife, Wendy, of Bremington, Washington; her mother-in-law, Ruth Bard of Cloverdale; her nephews, Titan Daum, Joshua Bard, and David Murphy; her nieces, Erin Marshall and her husband, Jason Sutton, Naomi Daum, Nicole Groves, and Amanda Wilson; her great-nephew, Zack; her great-nieces, Rushi and Vanessa ; her brother-in-law, David Bard and his wife, Renea; and her sister-in-law, Dana Hess and her husband, Tom.
Though her earthly journey ended, Susan's memory is forever entwined with her parents and her sister, Judith Daum, who preceded her in death.
Her love also extended to her cherished dogs, Buddy, Bentley, Delilah, Millie, and her baby, Bella.
In 1976, Susan proudly graduated from Crystal Lake High School in Crystal Lake, Illinois, marking the beginning of her remarkable journey.
As a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and an active member of American Legion Post No. 70,
Susan demonstrated her unwavering dedication and spirit at all of her granddaughter's school activities. Raina brought her immense joy, and the time they spent together was truly the highlight of her life, filled with laughter, music, and endless memories as co-band manager of the Twisted Tiara's.
Sue was an avid music fan as she performed in numerous music and theater groups throughout the years and remained a huge fan of the Monkees and her beloved hippie era music.
