Tedd William Stokes

Tedd William Stokes, 64, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born on November 22, 1961, in Gary, the son of Andrew and Doris (Hickle) Stokes. On April 23, 1994, he married Theresa Bosley, and she survives.

In addition to Theresa, Tedd is survived by his children, Kimberly Hudson-Porter and spouse, Kylie, of West Lafayette, Courtney Hudson of Fairland, and Tedd Stokes II, and wife, Bridgette, of Shelbyville; brothers, Bruce Stokes of Indianapolis, and Darin Stokes of Galveston Island, Texas; sister, Denise Stokes-Hexamer of Fortville; grandchildren, Alexis, Emmagrace, Aiden and Rebecca; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Debbie Stokes Page; and brother, David Stokes.

In 1980, Tedd graduated from Griffith High School.

For over 40 years, Tedd was an auto mechanic, working at GM Dealerships, and retiring from Byrider on Shadeland Avenue in January of 2025.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Council No. 5290 Indianapolis, and the Sugar Creek Masonic Lodge No. 279 F&AM.

Tedd enjoyed listening to music, gardening, watching NASCAR, camping, traveling and his grandchildren. He was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts, but his number one team was the Chicago Bears. He was also a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
