Thomas W. Macy

Thomas W. “Tom” Macy, 49, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.

He was born July 26, 1974, in Indianapolis, the son of Steve E. and L. Jane (Fuchs) Macy.

Tom is survived by his mother of Shelbyville; uncle, Brent Fuchs and Lisa, of Shelbyville; aunt, Lois Macy of Indianapolis; cousins, Brittany Marye and Michael,  and Lindsay Devine and Josh, both of Shelbyville, Matthew Groves and Becky, and Nathan Groves and Andrea, both of Indianapolis; second cousins, Callie, Jordan, Taylor, Kash, Wyatt, Macy, Levi and Spencer.

He was preceded in death by his father; and aunt, Kathy Groves.

In 1992, Tom graduated from Morristown High School.  He received degrees from Vincennes University  and IUPUI.

Tom worked in the IT field and his past employment included AT&T and Indiana Grand.

He enjoyed watching sporting events, especially football.  Tom also enjoyed the time he spent on the coaching staff of the Morristown Girl’s basketball team.

Tom loved the time he spent with his friends and family, and was affectionally known as “Thomas the Bomas” by family.

As per Tom’s wishes, private family services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
