Thomas E. Wells, 66 of Shelbyville, passed away, Monday, September 4, 2023, at Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born February 8, 1957, to Edward and Dorothy (Neu) Wells Kaster in Shelbyville.

Tom attended Shelbyville High School.   He previously worked for Knauf Insulation and Yager Bowling Service, before starting his own service business, retiring in 2019.

He was preceded in death by his parents; fiance’, Janie Russell; and sister, Terri Ayers.

Survivors include his sisters, Debbie Ewing of Shelbyville, and Dee (Jim) Carter of Indianapolis; brothers, David (Sandy) Wells and Ted (Renae) Wells, both of Shelbyville; special son, Jason (Elizabeth) Russell; and special grandchildren, Jason Jr. and Emilia, of Fayetteville, Georgia, along with over 50 nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Tom was a quiet, gentle man who loved watching sports and playing golf.  He was quite the jokester with his family and friends, and was an avid pool player.

His dogs Lucy, Sheba and Rusty had a special place in his heart.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), 1622 IN-44 in Shelbyville.

Inurnment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelbyville-Shelby County Animal Shelter, 705 Hale Road, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
