Tracie L. Latimer, 50, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at her home. She was born February 3, 1970, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Marvin and Karolyn (DeMoss) Waltz. On July 25, 1992, she married her husband of 27 years, Scott Latimer, and he survives. In addition to Scott, Tracie is survived by her parents of Shelbyville; son, Tyler Latimer and girlfriend, Hannah O’Connor, of Shelbyville; daughter, Katie Latimer of Shelbyville; brother, Ryan Waltz of Shelbyville; mother-in-law, Beverly Bass of Shelbyville; aunts, Mary Kaster, Rose Marie Starkey and Barbara Eiler; uncle, Jay DeMoss; niece, Jessica Latimer; nephews, Nick Pierce, Derek Casey and Nate Latimer; and cousins, Cindy Kelley, Kim Ballman, Emily Keller, Jenny DeMoss, Nichole Cooper and Emma Starkey. Tracie graduated in 1988 from Triton Central High School. She graduated from Indiana Business College with an associates degree. She was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Tracie was the office manager at Bradley Phifer Dog Training and had formerly worked at Shelbyville Central School, as a special needs aide, for 15 years. She enjoyed riding horses and vacationing in Gatlinburg. Tracie loved her family and cherished the time they spent together. Tracie loved and leaves behind her dogs, Duke, Eevee and Noah; and cats, Otis and Jinx. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2020 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020, at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Shelby County, PO Box 844, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176; Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 E. 17th St., Columbus, Indiana 47201; or Shelbyville-Shelby County Animal Shelter, 705 Hale Road, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
