Vivian Harding Craig Fraker

Vivian Harding Craig Fraker, age 102 of Boggstown Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on September 11, 2017. She was born November 18, 1914 in Shelby County, the daughter of Samuel and Clara (Phillips) Harding. She married Ernest Luper Craig on September 23, 1933 and they had a daughter, Jeanette Craig Harlan. Ernest Craig preceded her in death on January 19, 1964, and Jeannette passed away in 1989. Vivian married Archie Fraker on December 31, 1965, and he preceded her in death in June of 1976. She also was preceded in death by five sisters, Mrs. Bessie Harrell, Mrs. Lessie Shelly, Miss Lillian Harding, Mrs. Elma Compton and Mrs. Claire Snyder, and two brothers, Mr. Harry Harding and Mr. Samuel Harding. Survivors include two grandchildren, Joan Harlan Stock (spouse, William) of Scottsdale Arizona, and Joe Ernest Harlan (spouse, Theresa (Elliott) Harlan) of Austin, Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fraker lived in the Boggstown area for most of her life. She graduated from Boggstown High School in 1932. She was the owner of Vivian’s Beauty Salon for 32 years, and formerly worked at Allison Plant No. 5 during World War II and the Boggstown Locker Plant. Vivian was a member of the Boggstown Presbyterian Church, serving as a deaconess, and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star Fairland Chapter, Past President of the Home and Garden Club and a member of the Shelby County Country Club. She was also a member of the Jolly Twelve Card Club and was active in the Fairland Senior Citizens. Vivian served on the Sugar Creek Advisory Board. She enjoyed gardening and loved to play euchre. Vivian was a collector of antiques, her collections included coins, stamps and china. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Boggstown Cemetery in Boggstown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boggstown Presbyterian Church, 2488 N. Sand Creek Road, Boggstown, IN 46110, or the New Boggstown Cemetery, 4178 NCR 825 W, Boggstown, IN 46110.
